Getting Involved

- preserving a healthy heritage by keeping rural traditions in urban spaces -

The Urban Farm Museum Society was created through hard work and dedication of volunteers and it continues to be run by a dedicated volunteer base. We always need support from people to keep our gardens lush, programs running, and events re-occurring.

Donations are wonderful and we truly appreciate and seek volunteers who would like to help and donate some of their time.

Year round we have meetings, talks, planning, and activities for people to get involved in. Please take a look at our past options and volunteer brochure.

 Volunteer Training 2011

Watch for information and dates for volunteer introduction  as part of the Come Grow With Us Program. It takes place in the Urban Farm field. Information will be available and questions will be answered as to what activities best suit our individual volunteers.

  Our programs are seasonal

We need: art for our brochures, carpentry for our signs, telephoning for our events, materials for visitors (such as a picture list of wild foods, birds, insects, butterflies, lichen or wildflowers found in our Farm field), planning and planting of new flower garden area, serving on our Board of Directors or on a Committee to write grants or oversee a project, construction of new nature trails on the property, etc.

We have available:  Gentle people, a Geocache, a beautiful, quiet setting for reading, hiking, picnicking, playing Frisbee, etc. There are picnic tables in the field where you may relax while eating your lunch.

And much, much more!!
